Believed to be over a century old, this revered temple has evolved into a prominent landmark, attracting both devotees and tourists alike. Its strategic location offers visitors a tranquil ambiance, complemented by the gentle sea breeze and picturesque views of the Straits of Malacca.
The temple's expansive grounds are adorned with an impressive array of 98 statues, each meticulously crafted to represent deities and figures from Chinese mythology. At the heart of the temple stands the towering 48-foot stone statue of Tua Pek Kong, recognized as the tallest of its kind in Malaysia. Accompanying this monumental figure are statues of Guanyin, the Queen Mother and the Maitreya Buddha, among others, each symbolizing various virtues and blessings.
Visitors can meander through the beautifully landscaped gardens, featuring koi ponds, artificial rock formations and the unique dragon tunnel. This tunnel, designed in the shape of a dragon, offers an immersive experience with its interior walls depicting scenes from the Ten Chambers of Hell, serving as a moral compass for many.
