Vibrant open-air gallery, unveiled in early 2022, transforms the alleyways of Tapah into a canvas that celebrates the town’s heritage, local wildlife andtistic flair.
Spanning approximately 4,000 square meters, the murals adorn the rear walls of 17 shopfronts along Jalan Persekutuan 1. The artwork showcases a diverse range of themes, including the iconic Tapah fish, the legendary rooster of Pak Kaduk, the lush Lata Kinjang waterfall ande beloved local fruit, jambu batu. These murals not only beautify the area but also serve as educational tools, imparting stories and messages through vivid imagery .
The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Tapah District Council, Tourism Perak ande Bumiputera Tourism Operators Association of Perak. It aims to rejuvenate neglected spaces, making them safe and strategically appealing for both locals and visitors. The murals have quickly become a must-see attraction for tourists en route to the highlands, adding a splash of color and culture to their journey .
Enhancing the experience, the Fun Map Batang Padang was introduced to guide visitors to various attractions within the district. Additionally, the Arts Night Bazaar, held every Saturday evening, provides a platform for young entrepreneurs and artists to showcase their talents, fostering a creative community hub in Tapah .
