TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE LOCATION.

Established in 1883 by Sir Hugh Low, the third British Resident of Perak. This institution was founded to collect and study ethnological, zoological, botanical and geological specimens, offering insights into the region's natural and cultural heritage.

Housed in a building that showcases a blend of Neo-classical, Victorian and Moorish architectural styles, the museum itself is a historical artifact. Designed by an English architect, the structure features elements reminiscent of classical Greek and Roman architecture, such as pediments and columns, creating a visually striking edifice.

Inside, the museum boasts an extensive collection of over 8,000 artifacts spread across several galleries. The Natural History Gallery presents a range of zoological specimens, including a century-old elephant skeleton and various dioramas depicting Malaysia's diverse ecosystems.  The Cultural Gallery showcases traditional handicrafts, textiles and tools, reflecting the artistic heritage of Perak's communities.

The Indigenous People Gallery offers a glimpse into the lives of Malaysia's native tribes, featuring artifacts such as ceremonial masks, musical instruments and traditional attire. Additionally, the museum's outdoor exhibits include historical transportation modes like dugout canoes, antique trains and a fighter plane, providing an engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

Conveniently located at the junction of Jalan Muzium and Jalan Taming Sari in Taiping, the museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on the first Monday of each month. Admission is affordably priced at RM2 for adults, with free entry for children under 12 and students in uniform.
