Vibrant coastal gem in Perak that seamlessly blends scenic beauty with cultural richness. Spanning 7.4 acres along the serene Selat Dinding, this public park was officially inaugurated on November 29, 2004, by D.Y.T.M Raja Muda Perak, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah.
Lumut Waterfront serves as a gateway to the idyllic Pangkor Island, with a jetty providing easy access for travelers. The area is adorned with maritime-themed architecture reflecting Lumut's rich naval heritage. As the home base of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the site of Malaysia's largest naval shipbuilder Boustead Naval Shipyard, Lumut's maritime significance is deeply embedded in its identity.
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront's walking trails shaded by tall palm trees that sway gently in the sea breeze. The park features well-maintained playgrounds for children, open grassy areas for picnics and an open stage for public performances.
For those interested in local crafts and cuisine, the waterfront hosts a variety of shops selling seafood products from Pangkor Island including blue-eyed anchovies, fish satay, salted fish, dried squid, fish crackers and dried shrimp. These items make excellent souvenirs and are highly sought after for their freshness and quality.
As evening falls, the waterfront comes alive with vibrant food bazaars offering a wide array of local delicacies. The lively atmosphere combined with the scenic views of the sea makes Lumut Waterfront a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the local culture.
Whether you're embarking on a journey to Pangkor Island or simply seeking a tranquil seaside retreat, Lumut Waterfront offers a delightful experience that captures the essence of Perak's coastal charm.
